It's one of the safest places to travel in Africa, and not only that but it has everything you'd expect from an african landscape and more. The country's relatively underpopulated so there's a lot of space, from vast plains to towering sand dunes and long, lonely beaches.There's also an adventure capital at Swokopmund, where there are numerous adrenaline pumping activities in some of the worlds most stunning scenery.

Budget Accommodation in Namibia
Camping is ok anywhere, there are designated sites throughout the country plus most backpacker lodges will let you camp on their ground. Backpacker hostels are clean and inexpensive, around US$8 per night for a dorm bed. Many places also serve food and the facilities are excellent.
A Traveller's Budget for Namibia
To get around this beautiful country, standard fare is to take a bus or a minibus. The latter is usually a bit cheaper but not anything like as comfortable a ride. There's also a train service which combines freight and transport services so it's not quick but it's fairly cheap as long as you don't travel at the weekend. It's also possible to ride with truck drivers but bear in mind there's not that much traffic here, and they will expect payment, usually per 100km.
As far as eating cheaply goes, there are supermarkets in the bigger towns if you want to self cater, otherwise there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around, you should be able to find something to suit. If you're venturing into any national parks, stock up before you go, there are stores at the camp sites there but they're expensive.
