Paraguay is a country where few tourists go and as a result the people are incredibly welcoming and enthusiatic about their homeland. Try some fishing, see the old Jesuit missions or go shopping for some lace. Everything is cheap here so you don't have to look too hard.

A Traveler's Budget for Paraguay
Many of the cafes and restaurants in Paraguay's towns and cities are very cheap and the food is filling so you can fuel up easily and cheaply. Try out the parrillas which serve parrillada os Bori-bori, a hearty soup, to keep you going. Cafes cater more towards snacks and usually have a daily special. You can get around the capital cheaply by bus or even taxi, to travel around the country there is the intercity bus service or you can hire a bike or a car although the roads outside the towns aren't always in very good condition.
